Well, Someone Is Happy to See Me!

This is a bronze sculpture of a bison which sits in front of our art museum, sculpted by Texas artist T. D. Kelsey. It's a beautiful sculpture, but what everyone seems to want to dwell on is how..... um.....anatomically correct... um.... the sculpture is!

Kim, I don't think I am going to "touch" that one! But very funny! :)

Tis what makes the Bull, A placid Bison cow would have had less impact, For my money the sensation of running my hand over that rough hewn head would be better that getting concerned with inconsequential prudishness. Splendid photographic rendition.

I love these big bronze scupltures and am glad the town leaders (or whoever was concerned with Bull biology/anatomy) let him be. Manly!

Now my mind is stuck on an image of a gaggle of tittering old ladies on their Wednesday afternoon outing to the art museum! "Oh my GOODNESS, Lil! That's certainly a large...sculpture" "Did they have to make it so, er, lifelike?" "Somebody get a doily and cover this lad up!" "Gee, I miss my late husband..."

It's a beautiful sculpture in all its anatomical correctness!

Reminds me of a story told by a Miniature Horse breeder friend. (Unfortunately, it's best not told here!)

Absolutely gorgeous statue! You should come see the life size statues of horses at Las Colinas, just north of Dallas. Anatomically correct, they are, right down to the tiny veins on the muzzles! Every detail is exact, including the ones you're talking about!
